Day 9 La Romieu to Larressingle 18.5kms 464m (164.5kms 3639m)

A day full of variety!
Many people had been walking into the alley next to our Chambre.
It turned out to be an ancient town entrance.
Walking through fields and the edge of woods we arrived in Castelnau-sur l'Auvignon, a small village famous for resisting the German forces with the assistance of 6 Spanish, 3 Canadian and several SOE. No cafe so we played with an eight week old puppy and had coffee at a farmhouse.
At the bottom of the hill we were detoured ( not nice when on foot). The southern shore of a huge lake was "in traversable", so we went around to the north. Just an extra two kilometres😢.
Lunch in the town of Condom saw us crossing swords with famous men.
The walk out of town was very prettyOur stop for the night was outside France's smallest walled city, Larressingle. Clare was too boisterous for the locals.
We strolled around in the warm evening before retiring for a wine.
Nighty night!
